Back when I was 5 years old, my parents got me a Mickey Mouse drum set. I never owned a pair of real drum sticks, so I used wooden spoons, and I'm sure it sounded awful, but that's how I fell in love with music. Fast forward years later, after playing in multiple bands in my teen years, I picked up some guitar, bass guitar and also sang lead and backup vocals. My first go at producing was around 14. I took a drum machine I had, a stereo and a keyboard apart, and connected the speaker wires together. The stereo I had luckily came equipped with a mic input so i could record vocals. I would record a loop on the keyboard, play a beat on the drum machine, record my vocals, all after pressing the record buttons on my stereos tape deck. There was no mixing involved, but surprisingly enough, it didn't sound all that bad. My first DAW was FL 6, given to me by my brother in law who had a download left on his Fruity Loops disk. 13 years ago, there weren't many tutorials on YouTube to learn how to properly use the software, but there were a few. The ones I gravitated to most (being a drummer) were the trap/hip hop beatmaking tutorial channels. When I was younger in bands, I was always the one with the most drive, hunger, and flat out. I was truly in it for the music. There are different types of artists/musicians. The hobbyists, dabblers, one's who do it to get women/men, and then the people who were truly born for it. The last one is me. I can't go too long without creating. Music lives deep within my soul. Over a decade later, I'm still using "Fruity Loops," (which has now been shortened to, FL) and I'm still producing music and making beats. Not long ago, I got my first major placement and have sold hundreds of beats worldwide. My goal is to be doing this full time. I want to keep helping artists express themselves and share my knowledge, and teach the next generation as much as I can.
