Abe Batshon burst into the hip-hop scene in 2007 with his debut album, Son of a Refugee. Born in Hayward, California, as the only Arab kid in his neighborhood, Abe's journey from overcoming childhood struggles to finding his voice in poetry and hip-hop is reflected in his music. As an Arab-American artist navigating a post-9/11 world, Abe addresses stereotypes and societal perceptions through his lyrics, resonating with the experiences of over 4 million Arab-Americans.
Abe's artistic inspiration is drawn from his family's history, particularly the stories from Palestine's 1948 war shared by his grandmother. This emotional connection led him on a pilgrimage to Lod and the West Bank, shaping the narrative of Son of a Refugee. Beyond his role as Founder & CEO of BeatStars, Abe's impact extends globally - including past performances at the UN-sponsored Refugee Film Festival in Tokyo, as well as having his music showcased at The University of Scotland.
To this day, Abe is committed to giving back to his people in Palestine. His goal is to contribute to Palestine's economic development and aid the children and families of Gaza, illustrating his belief that music is a potent catalyst for change and a voice for the unheard in the face of constant unrest.

After a 2 week review and voting period, two standout artists will be selected to move forward.

Beat Submissions
The top beats will be sent to the two winners from phase 1.

Demo Submission
This demo submission period will last for 6-12 weeks.

- Artists create demo tracks of new songs using the beats from phase 2.
- The target is 4-5 songs per artist, enough to create an EP/album.
Finalization and Studio Recording
This will last for 6 weeks, culminating in the completed songs being presented to Boom Record.

- Work in state-of-the-art studios with professional equipment.
- Receive guidance from industry experts to polish your tracks.
- Create a finished product worthy of presenting to our label partner, Boom Records.
